In their first game action of the spring, the Jr. Dinos played well in losing to Top of the Hill in the Airdrie Elite Spring League. Top of the Hill, composed of former University and College Stars Ryan Mulholland, Jamie Mulholland, Mike Asmus, Brad Gallup and Scott Gallup, the Jr. Dinos were definetely out experienced by their opposition. The Final Score was 97-85 for Top of the Hill. Top of the Hill was lead by Ryan Mulholland who netted 26 points hitting on 4 3 point buckets and going 10/10 from the free throw line. Brad Gallup scored 21 points, Mike Asmus scored 16, Scott Gallup 13, and Jamie Mulholland rounded out the double figure scorers with 12.

The Jr. Dinos were lead by the scoring of Brennen Fule who finished the night with 20 points with 4 three pointers. Jordan Hone was the only other Jr. Dino in double figures scoring 10 points off the bench, while Joe Theriault added 9, Tyler Fidler, Pierce Anderson and Taylor Norum all finished with 8. Trevor Debolt did a great job running the team and leading the fast break, while Ian Tomaszewski hustled, and did a great job on the defensive end of the floor.

The Jr. Dinos will continue their game action on Tuesday May 2 at 6:00pm against the Blue Devils.

The U-17 Jr. Dinos are gearing up for the 2006 tournament season once again by playing in the Airdrie Elite East Spring League at Bert Church High School. This is the second straight season that the U-17 will head into the Spring Leauge under Head Coach Matt Skinn. The league plays host to College and University level players, past and present, as well as a high school entry from Bert Church. The 9 team league kicks off on April 25, where the Dinos play at 8:30pm against Top of the Hill.

In other news, Cam Perry, the 6′6″ Forward from Henry Wisewood, and 6′10″ Center Jordan Bachynski have joined the Jr. Dinos line-up. Cam was a star on the Jr. Dinos last summer, and will join the team for tournament action starting on May 5. Jordan, a standout at Centennial High School, will bring size and athleticsm to the Jr. Dinos line-up.

It also seems that Guard/Forward Mike Kucherya will be out for an indefinete amount of time with an achilles tendon injury. The rugged forward out of Western Canada High School hopes to make it back into the Jr. Dinos line-up before the end of the club season.

NOTE: The U-15 Jr. Dinos started play in the CMBA Midget Club Spring League on April 18. The team is lead by Alberta Provincial team hopefuls, Brett Palmer, Kevin Davies and Jinil Kim. Coached by Henry Bekkering and Brendan Groat, the U-15 version of the Dinos should have a very successful spring and summer season.

The Junior Dinos U-17 team hopes to remain competitive this season after a tremendously successful club season of 2005. The Dinos will once again be lead by the same coaching staff, Head Coach Matt Skinn, Assistant Coach at the University of Calgary, and Kol Armstrong, Video Coach at the University of Calgary and former William Aberhart High School bench boss. The roster is made up of players from Calgary and the surrounding area.
